FPGA Macros and related services
Intellectual Property (IP) of FPGA macros is owned by Skytechnology: a non-linearity filter and an echo canceller for video broadcasting are examples of them.
IPs are shipped as source code with documentation. The right of use in one or more design or an unlimited right of use is granted to the customer, while the property continue to belong to Skytechnology.
Among related services, Skytechnology can support in:
- IP Integration
- Design Requirement Specifications that include IPs
- Turn-Key Design Implementation using IPs
Integration
Macros are shipped at RTL level. Expected results with some target technologies can be provided. Customers can be supported by Skytechnology both in the Place&Route of the single macro to get to the best fit in terms of speed or dimensions, and in the integration of the macro with proprietary or external RTL code.
Requirement Specification
The provided IP becomes part of a larger design at different levels:
- It can be totally included into an FPGA
- The FPGA can be part of a PCB design
- The IP can be part of a design where micros or softcores are used, hence it can be part of a hw+sw design
Customer may face on different possibilities: Skytechnology can provide support in the selection of the best architecture, helping in System Level Definiton.
DesignProper know-how to develop hw+sw designs according to customer specifications starting from requirements definition throu prototypes generation, following customer design flows and documentation standards, is part of Skytechnology’s background. Skytechnology doesn’t keep any right on the designs developed for his customers with the exception of the macros: for them only the non-exclusive right of use is released, while the intellectual property is kept.
