For an important worldwide Avionic Company, Skytechnology has won the contract for the RAMS analysis of some sub-systems. For each electronic board is performed an analysis according to specific parameters depending on application (such as MIL-HDBK-217G). The analysis is done by mean of both standard tools and/or custom developed analysis tools.

The RAMS activity to be done consists of:

  • Reliability prediction
  • FMEA, FMECA analysis
  • Fault tree analysis

For an international Railway Company, Skytechnology has delivered a solution to capture signal data coming from a train simulator based on NI CompactDaq. With this system is possible to acquire data in real time from train brakes, process, store and represent such data with a composite synoptic.

The benefits of Skytechnology’s solution are as follows:

Skytechnology, for an Avionic measurement system, has won the acquisition subsystem of a torsion sensor. An electronic board has been developed to acquire the signals from the sensor, which are processed and sent to a display system. The firmware development is based on an Infineon microcontroller and the Human Machine Interface is developed using a lab-windows cvi environment.

For a company leader in Avionic market, Skytechnology won the contract for the design and realization of the NDIMP testbench that will be used for troubleshooting. The test bench is designed to interface the module, providing all the required stimuli and handling the output signals, including the functional bus, the MIL-STD-3910, MIL-STD-3838 and Arinc-429 buses. A specific software will be developed to execute test routines and generate reports.

For an important Power Converter Solutions Company, Skytechnology has won the contract for the delivery of a test bench to be used for recharging battery systems. Those system shall be used for recharging battery of electrical vehicle such as little track used for carrying the goods in the city center.

This project consists of:

  • Design and development of a test bench using the so-called “Components of the shelf” instrumentation
  • Design and development of signal conditioning boards
  • Design and development of automated test sequence by using National Instruments software suite
  • Support in order to improve the design and testability of the customer system

For an important provider of Radar and EW Systems, Skytechnology won the contract for the design and realization of the power and signal distribution motherboard of an active electronically scanned array. The board is designed to handle the power to be supplied to active modules and the control signals necessary for the array control, composed by a total of 300 elements. The number of elements, the board dimensions and the currents to be handled are the critical factors that make the project a big challenge

For an important worldwide Space Company Skytechnology has won the contract for the Space Wire Web Data Preparation Tool.

This project consists of the Design and Development of:

  • Server application, dedicated to preparing scenarios and generating data for the Space Wire front end.
  • Web Interface to use the Server Application.

SpaceWire is a standard for high-speed links and networks for use onboard spacecraft, easing the interconnection of: sensors; mass-memories and processing units.

For an international Railway Component Company, Skytechnology will provide consultancy services to capture signal data coming from a train simulator. Signal data are collected by NI CompactDaq, safely stored and then processed to graphically represent the values by means of a synoptic.

Skytechnology wins the contract to provide an important Defense Company with a test-jig to verify a module of an Electronic Warfare System.

Through a graphical interface, the operator can select and execute the tests and analyze the results. A specific interface board has to be design to handle all the modules under test interfaces: multi-gigabit transceiver, RS-485, LVDS, etc. The test-jig can be configured for both conduction cooled and air cooled modules.

Skytechnology will participate in the eighth edition of NI Aerospace and Defense Forum, the National Instruments event dedicated to the Aerospace and Defense sector that will take place on April 6 in Rome.

We will be present in the exhibition area, where we will show:

  • A solution for the performance evaluation of digital radio equipment, in the presence of multipath fading phenomena typical of the long-range communications. The product, based on N.I. technology will be available to the visitors to test the features of the proposed solution.

For a major Avionic company, Skytechnology won the contract to replace and obsolete ASIC. Within the contract, Skytechnology main charge is the re-targeting of the VHDL code to a FPGA component in order to obtain a Fit Form and Function (FFF) device to replace the obsolete one and the validation of the project through the development of a suitable test jig that allows the functional test of the new device and the comparison with the one in use.

For a major International Space company Skytechnology won the contract for the customization of the TOE-FX 101 IP core implementing a TCP-IP Offload Engine. The design has to be implemented on an Altera Stratix V device providing three 1 Gbit Ethernet interfaces with a sustained rate of 300Mbit/s and up to 8 active connections each. A user interface has to be developed to configure the connection parameters.

PRISMA (Hyperspectral Precursor of the Application Mission) is an Earth Observation system satellite developed by ASI.

Within EUCLID project, Skytechnology is in charge of worst-case analysis and testing of some power supply board.

Euclid is an ESA mission to map the geometry of the dark Universe.

It offers an enhanced data and timing management on the SpaceWire layer and can be used to send command and control to the Unit Under Test (UUT) and retrieve scientific data as continuous data stream.
