  • Analysis of functional performance and environmental requirements

Skytechnoly’s activities focus on the development and validation of the FW inherent to the Code Division MultipleAccess Modulation and Lineariser.

In particular, the activities are the following:

The customer needs to evaluate AC / DC converter architectures from various manufacturers. The evaluation includes simulations of both functional behavior and immunity to anomalous situations of power supplies according to EN61000. Once the most promising architectures have been chosen, they will be tested thanks to Evaluation Board possibly integrated by ad hoc circuits.

For a major global Space Company, Skytechnology has won the contract to reverse engineer an Ultra High Speed ​​Front End Equipment (UHSFEE) with a multi-link Wizard interface system. It offers a very high-speed bidirectional point-to-point data transmission system.

Within this project, various activities are envisaged:

– Reverse engineering: where a critical analysis of the code will be performed in order to reconstruct its architecture and understand its functioning.

– New release realization.

– ATP reconstruction: In this phase the XML of the test set will be aligned.

For a prestigious customer in the Avionic Market, Skytechnology has won a tender for the design, the development, the documentation and the construction of seven testbenches for testing, and troubleshooting activities, in particular the supply will include the following:

  • Electrical and Mechanical Design

The supply has as its object the design, implementation and testing of a testbench for engineering purposes of development, debugging and integration of the functionalities. The testbench is intended for the exclusive use of qualified personnel in a laboratory environment.

Skytechnology has won a contract with a major company in the Automotive Sector for the testing of the cars telematic control unit. By reading the logs files we have to find bugs, analyze them, study solutions to solve them and if necessary, write automatic tests.

The tools used are mainly CANalyzer for the simulation of the CAN network, DLTviewer for log analysis, Doors for writing tests and tracking requirements and Python for automating tests.

An important US Space Company has chosen the Skytechnology Multipath Fading Emulator (MFE).

MFE is a SW to control a RF instrument, which allows the user to conduct frequency selective fading tests on microwave radio receivers, implementing Rummeler model. The instrument is built on top of NI hardware platform, thus offering a certain degree of flexibility, in terms of expandability, both functional and hardware.

Skytechnology has closed a new contract with an Important Company specialized in Traffic Control and Smart City. This contract consists in the development and in the maintenance of software components, inserted in a microservice architecture, dedicated to the collection of data from devices in the field (sensors, cameras, video analysis systems, etc.). These data collected integrated into a database are used by the operators to control and plan the urban and suburban mobility. The technologies used include C #, SQL and javascript languages.

Skytechnology has closed a collaboration agreement with an important Railway Company, which provides the implementation of a test bench for the testing of some railway devices. This test bench must include a flexible and scalable HW and SW system, capable of interfacing with some types of control units that must operate on board of the train and manage configurable thermal profiles in order to recreate the usage scenarios.

The new test bench will house a new generation PXI system, and will use a SW application adapted to extend its functionality and manage different HW instruments.

Following simple instructions written by a non-expert operator in a text file, this software is able to realize a complex automatic test procedure without the need of a skilled Test Engineer or Software developer. The TE will be able to configure the payload by means of SpaceWire interface, to emulate Telemetries and Telecommands, to acquire the status of about one hundred signals and to store processed data coming from a high speed serial link (2.5 Gbps).

Skytecnology has won a contract with a major company in the Automotive Sector to develop and test Vehicle Functions (VF), which manage the interior and exterior lights of the car.
The most used tools are:

  • Understand: used simply as a code editor;
  • Softune: used to debug and generate the file executable;
  • Doors: database for the requirements;
  • CANalyzer: software used to interface with the simulator;
  • DIAnalyzer: used for more purposes.
    Just to give some examples:
    upload a new executable file on the control unit, monitor the diagnostic signals, interact with the control unit by sending and receiving messages;
  • CANdela: check the meaning of the diagnostic codes, of the messages that are sent / received between the various nodes of the vehicle and when they are sent.

Skytechnology has won a contract for an International Company in the Automotive Sector to develop the change requests on the SW Components of the control panels of the cars already on the market. In this project, the SWCs have been developed in C language. In particular, the project concerns the graphics of the framework; to do this are used tools such as Synergy or Git for the versioning of SWCs, Multi green hills to load the SW on the switchboard and Eclipse as IDE for code changes. To verify that the changes have been successful, the code is tested on a test panel connected through a car simulator and a CANcaseXL and managed with Vector CANalyzer.

In particular, we deal with the BMS (Boogie Monitoring System) and Tilting, that is the train carriage control system and the inclination management system to maintain the train’s cornering stability even at very high speeds.The main objective of a BMS is to detect the instability of the trolley, thus providing the input to the anti-derailment system, and to detect the temperature at the level of the bushes, where the wheels are hooked to the trolley axis, to monitor overheating dangerous.

An electronic board has been developed to acquire the signals from the sensor, which are processed and sent to a display system. Skytechnology wins the contract to provide an important Defense Company with a test-jig to verify a module of an Electronic Warfare System.

Through a graphical interface, the operator can select and execute the tests and analyze the results. A specific interface board has to be design to handle all the modules under test interfaces: multi-gigabit transceiver, RS-485, LVDS, etc. The test-jig can be configured for both conduction cooled and air cooled modules.
